About our publications

Knowledge asks
for responsibility.

Traceable sources, clear claims and a way to correct errors are the foundation of our library.

Publication status

The Matreya library is an educational and founding series from an open initiative. Reviews discuss published work; the founding essay proposes principles for collaboration. We do not describe these texts as peer-reviewed research papers or attribute cited research results to the institute.

Authorship & AI assistance

This series was prepared with substantial AI assistance. Scientific and editorial responsibility remains with people. Materials are attributed to the initiative’s editorial team, not to invented researchers. Each page states its publication date and material type.

Working with evidence

We prioritise original studies, primary Buddhist texts, author documents and official research-institution pages. Observation, interpretation, philosophical positions and religious teachings are distinguished. Gaps in evidence are not replaced by certainty.

Diversity of traditions

We do not presume agreement between all Buddhist schools. Terms, aims of practice and forms of argument depend on tradition and context. Participation does not authorise someone to represent a school or community without its consent.

Images & rights

Historical works and actual photographs include the creator, licence and a link to the original. They provide context and do not imply that depicted people or institutions collaborate with Matreya. The AI-generated architectural vision is explicitly labelled as a building that does not exist. An image licence does not automatically apply to the surrounding text.

Corrections & development

To report an inaccuracy, use the enquiry form and include the article URL, disputed passage and a verifiable source. Substantial corrections will be reflected in the text and GitLab history. Subject specialists are welcome to review and improve the collection; this series has not undergone external scientific peer review.

Open research

Research projects require a separate protocol, data permissions, participant consent and appropriate ethical review where necessary. Publishing a review or a founding essay replaces none of these steps.
